We're back this year with our annual scholarship program to showcase our kickass creative students! Advertising is all about creative problem solving so we want to see your creative problem solving in action. (Plus, if you’re not a straight A student, this gives you a chance to flex your creative muscles).

This year we will sponsor (6) scholarships: (5) $1,000 scholarships & (1) grand prize $5,000 scholarship. All six finalists will also be invited to Atlanta's 2023 American Advertising Awards.

Right about now you’re probably wondering, “How do I get the money?! Shut up and tell me how to get the money?!” Fair, but rude.

Currently enrolled (as of Spring 2023) college, graduate school, and/or portfolio school students are asked to submit:

  1. A response to one of the prompts below. You can respond with an essay, an image, a comic book, a video, a song - anything that shows us how you think in an engaging way.
  2. A resume
  3. An optional letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor (not required but strongly encouraged)

Choose Only One of the Three Themes, and One Prompt:

Tell us a something

Use 250 words, (we’ll save you the Google, it’s one double-spaced page), or less to answer ONE of the following prompts:

  1. Tell us about your favorite local non-profit.
  2. Tell us about why you love the ATL.
  3. Tell us about a time you changed your mind.

Make us something

Using your Creative Suite tool of choice or your own drawing skills, create ONE of the following:

  1. Make an ad for something for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
  2. Make a :15 second trailer of a day in the life of 2020.
  3. Make a new identity suite for a restaurant that has terrible branding (logo, website, and swag if you’re feeling it).

You may use any image or footage you find on the internet.

Teach us something

Use 250 words, (we’ll save you the Google, it’s one double-spaced page), or less to answer ONE of the following prompts:

  1. Create a $2,000 media plan to promote your favorite social media personality.
  2. We're super unmotivated and have time to kill. Tell us what to do with the next four hours.
  3. Teach us how to make your favorite meal.

To use the submission form above, you will need to log in with a Google account. If you do not have a Google account, please send your submissions to [email protected].

Remember, this isn’t a research paper or a formal communication. This is a prompt to show who you are and how you think and how you express yourself. It shouldn’t feel like a clinical or academic document - it should feel like you. How you talk, how you text, how you look at the world. By all means, proofread, but don’t make it so formal that we can’t see who you are in your work. And don’t worry, the responses are judged by people from every department in an agency from media, to creative, to account management, to strategy.

All six scholarships will be announced at the 2023 Atlanta Advertising Awards on February 27, 2023.
